Chico Marx And His Orchestra

Short-lived big band orchestra established in 1942 by Chico Marx and [a357512]. Mainly focusing on stage shows, the orchestra released two records with The Hit Record in June, 1942. The orchestra consisted of 16-man band and a vocal group, the lineup changed sporadically during its existence. In the fall of 1942, a 17-year old Mel Tormé joined the group as a singer and vocal arranger. The group eventually disbanded in July of 1943.
