Huntsville, Alabama band Humanicide was formed in mid 1986 as a metal cover band, under their original band Crimson Blade, but found it didn't take long before the band changed to an all thrash set and eventually a set of their own material. Over the years the band released 4 demos; the first entitled Death Machine (1987) was under band name Crimson Blade. This set the foundation for things to come. This demo was followed by another in 1988 called Impressive Incision. It was this demo that established Humanicide in the underground as a band to watch out for. However, the lineup problem and a long line of bassist departures made it impossible for the band to follow through on this momentum properly and many times it appeared as though the band was finished for good. Then, finally after almost two years of little or no activity the band pulled itself together and recorded their long awaited Terminal demo. However, as the demo was an improvement for the band it showed the effects of the band's inactivity and was lacking in the aggression department. While this demo was to pre-promote an LP on Wild Rags Records, the demo often placed the band in unwelcome company so Humanicide started working on new material and touring beyond their previous visitations (TN, GA, NC), including an extended tour through Texas. Upon returning Humanicide recorded songs for this release in order to place Humanicide back in their own territory comparable to no other.
