Christopher Pegis

Christopher Pegis comes from a family of string players. At five he began instruction on the piano, joined by cello a few years later. At eighteen, while at the Eastman School of Music, he became the youngest player ever to join the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and three years later joined the Delaware and Lancaster Symphonies while attending the New School of Music in Philadelphia. His performance in his family string quartet led to being offered a full scholarship to Hartt College, where he won several awards on his way to completing his B.SA. in music. Upon graduation he was appointed to the faculty, where a solo performance with the orchestra brought him to the attention of Peter Wortman, who asked him to complete the group Montage (15).
