Active from 1999 to 2006, Rocket Park was a progressive pop-rock group centered around the vintage keyboards of singer/songwriter Brian Andrew Marek and the propulsive drumming of Eric Moore. They released two albums, "Teenage Folklore" (1999) and "The Effects of Eating Too Much Television" (2000), both of which were engineered and co-produced by the Broom Factory's Mike Martin and released under the aegis of Rooster Lollipop Records. Despite a warm critical reaction and some high-profile opening slots (Alex Chilton, Jesus Jones, Live, OK GO, Saigon Kick, the Strokes), the departure of key members Dave Harris (bass) and Steve Minnis (guitar) plus a growing conflict between Marek and Moore over musical direction led to a gradual decline and dissolution of the band, leaving behind an unreleased third album ("Up Against Goodbye") that was stalled in the mixing stage. Brian Andrew Marek left in 2006 for a short stint with a transitional Bottle Rockets, then formed Bargain Basement and, more recently, the Village Green Preservation Society.
