Charles Shepard, born 1892. Designed posters for the Underground Group and London Transport 1924 -1960. Charles Shepard, also known by the name Captain Shepard or as Shep, studied art under Paul Woodroofe and was later head of the studio at the Baynard Press. He designed posters for the Southern Railway, British Rail and the Royal Mail Packet Steamship Company.
