Betty Gerald

Hailing from Mullins, South Carolina Betty, Linda, Doris, and Miriam Gerald were the daughters of Rev. Hassie Gerald. They were popular gospel singers who enjoyed a recording career from 1972 to 1985 as The Gerald Sisters, working under the management of their father who also accompanied them on the keyboard. In 1972 they made their first recording on Hoyt Sullivan’s HSE label when it was based in Greenwood, South Carolina. After cutting four albums for Sullivan, they moved to the Malaco label in Jackson, Mississippi where they cut two more releases. They ended their recording career with Sullivan in 1985.
