Peter Barry (6)

Living on a farm in North Lancashire bordering the beautiful Pennine Hills until the age of 24, Barry is the third eldest of a large and happy family of four brothers and three sisters. Taking up the guitar at the age of 19 Barry soon developed a style to suit his voice. Keen to gain confidence and experience he formed a dance band - humorously called "The Barrysters" which he ran successfully for two years, at which time he emigrated to Australia. It was while working on the Jindabyne Dam that the course of things to come would take shape. He met fellow worker Ulick O'Boyle who wrote songs about life in the mountains. Joining forces with Ulick and his with Anne they formed The Settlers (4) Being an unsettled Settler Barry left the group and headed to Sydney Town. His fresh style was a hit and was performing in big-time clubs and on TV shows.
