Gustav Adolf Bunge

Nazi composer and band director (born January 24, 1885 in Mühlberg/Elbe, died February 6, 1968 in Munich, Bavaria) The son of a town band master (Stadtkapellmeister), Bunge became a solo trumpeter and band leader in Munich. 1919-27 he served in the police, then he founded and led his own band. From 1934, he led the Musikkorps I der SS-Verfügungstruppe SS Standarte "Deutschland", rising to the rank of SS-Hauptsturmführer (captain) and apparently was appointed Professor of Music in Munich as well.
