Dirty Barby was first created by Kyle and Puce in 1995 through songs written and recorded on a karaoke machine. As their song writing and unschooled musical abilities grew, they were joined by bassist Rachael and guitarist Tera. This left Kyle, who had previously handled all the instruments, to concentrate on the drums and Puce retained the microphone. Now the original four-piece lineup was complete and the band played their first show in January 1999. The music itself is a sonic blend of giant melodic basslines, abrasive metal guitars, and cartoonishly sinister punk rock vocals, all carried along by the rhythm of of the pulsating drums. The stage show is fronted by the unbalanced Puce Glitz, a violent brat with psychotic tendencies and blood-red lips, who enjoys taunting, beating, and even molesting his fellow band mates and audience members. The band's rowdy melodies and shocking imagery quickly earned them a lot of attention in the pop-saturated Orlando music scene. In early 2000, the band parted ways with Tera and found a temporary replacement in Sam Johnson, who couldn't make a full time commitment due to the responsibility of maintaining his own band, the New Mexican Disaster Squad. By the middle of the year, Rachael too was gone but the band moved on to become stronger and tighter than ever. The perfect addition to the insanity was Mecca, who not only provides rhythm guitar and unholy backing vocals; she takes the live show to a whole new level of chaos and destruction. Dirty Barby broke up in 2003.
