John Conquest

Music critic, promoter, publisher and editor of the journal Music City Texas, renamed 3rd Coast Music in 1997. Born in England, Conquest moved to Austin, Texas in 1989 to cover the alt country, singer-songwriter music scene. He created the monthly Freeform American Roots Chart in 1999 to survey radio airplay of roots/folk music. Died on September 30th, 2016 at the age of 73.
