Classical pianist. Born In 1950 it was introductions from William Glock and Benjamin Britten which sent him to study abroad, first with Yvonne Lefebure in Paris and later Leve Oborin in Moscow. Following early competition successes his London debut came in 1972, and was quickly followed by an appearance at the Proms and engagements with major British orchestras. It was however a serioes of South Bank recitals promoted by the Kirckman Society which attracted critical attention, while a Beethoven sonata cycle in 1979 at the University Of Surrey confirmed his exceptional musical insight.
