Formed in Perth, Western Australia during 1986 while they were still high school students. The band name Cinema Prague was settled on during early 1988, as was three-piece line-up of 'Kailis / Horan / Lowe'. Their eclectic style ranges from alternative rock to punk and progressive rock, with Zappa-esque leanings. Between 1991 and 1998 Cinema Prague self-released: a two-song cassette, three albums and the '¡Zasph!' EP. On January 30th 2009 Cinema Prague posthumously released their fourth studio album 'Snakes Alive', which was recorded during the twilight days of the band in 1997. They were active as a live band from 1986 to 1998, but between 2007 and 2009 they reformed for some gigs in Perth and Melbourne — with bass player Roy Martinez. Then on July 19th 2019 the full original line-up reformed with Rex Horan ('Hossi') for a one-off show at the Freemantle Town Hall.
