Maxine Sanders

Maxine Sanders (born Arline Maxine Morris on December 30, 1946 in Cheshire) is a prominent member of the Wiccan faith and a co-founder with her late husband, Alex Sanders, of Alexandrian Wicca, whom she married in 1968. Raised a Roman Catholic, Maxine was educated at St. Joseph’s Convent School in Manchester. Sometime during the 1960s, she was introduced to Alex Sanders. Maxine was initiated into the Circle of Witchcraft in 1964. The High Priest of that Coven was Sanders himself, known throughout the world as 'King of the Witches'. She performed live with the rock band Black Widow as a fictionally "sacrificed" virgin in the early '70s. She and her husband made a record of religious recordings called "A Witch Is Born".
