With extraordinary songwriting and vocal abilities, 21 years old YT is one of the most exciting talents to have walked through the doors of Public Demand. Introduced to the label by a mutual acquaintance, YT recorded his first single “Nobody’s Fool” with his friends M4 who provided great harmonies. “Nobody’s Fool” had the pundits comparing them to classic R&B/Vocal Harmony groups such as Boyz II Men, Jodeci and Dru Hill, but with a distinct British twist. The record was a huge success on both the club scene and radio airwaves, with support from every major player in UK garage and great exposure on Radio One and their digital sister station 1Xtra. YT is currently writing his debut album, and songs such as the Drum & Bass masterpiece “Since You Left” display a star talent. This record, produced by Tomahawk from the respected label Hospital, is already winning wide support on its release. From the Drum & Bass camp, Grooverider, Mickey Finn, Flight, L Double, Marky & Patife, LTJ Bukem and Fabio are amongst those championing the track. But “Since You Left” has also crossed over to leading R&B/Garage DJs such as Radio Ones The Dreem Teem, Choice FM’s Masterstepz & The Artful Dodger reflecting the tunes genre-crossing appeal. In addition “Since You Left” has achieved an A-listed position on urban music touchstone, BBC 1Xtra. A Truly original songwriter, the likes of which Public Demand have rarely seen or heard, YT is a multi-talented artist, playing guitar, piano and drums to the highest of standards. Public Demand has every faith that YT will become another high profile artist to emerge from their label. YT “Since You Left” also features on 2 of the biggest selling urban compilations at the moment, Twice as Nice presents Urban Flavas 2 on Warners and Pure Drum & Bass on Universal.
