Barbershop lead vocalist. Born on September 1, 1936 in Massachusetts. Jim later moved to California and started singing barbershop in the Far Western District of SPEBSQSA. His first FWD championship quartet was the Golden Staters (1963). Jim competed in international with them twice placing as high as 7th before leaving the group. After departing from the Golden Staters, Jim went on to form the Far Westerners with Earl Moon, Jim Asolas, and Bill Merry. They won the FWD championship in 1967. After a few personnel changes in the group (Doug Anderson - tenor and Jay Wright - bass) they began medaling placing as high as third. When the Far Westerners broke up, Jim and Doug went on to form the 139th Street Quartet with Peter Neushel and Jim Kline in 1975. They became the 1976 FWD champions and earned a second place silver medal in 1977. Jim sadly decided to resign from the group in 1978 and that was the end of his barbershopping. Jim died on December 18, 2000 at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer.
