Cauchois born in Gueures, at the confluence of the Sâane and Vienne valleys, Jean Avenel became known from 1984 as the author of sketches in Cauchois that he performed alone on stage, then since 1990 as an author of plays cauchoises which he plays on the Upper Normandy stages in the company of Josette Doré and Stéphane Avenel.
