Freddie Self

Freddie Self was a member of one of Liverpool's first Rock & Roll groups The Bobby Bell Rockers and later joined The Beatcombers, who became Mike And His Merseymen and then Pye recording artistes The Trends. When The Trends disbanded in late 1964, Freddie continued as solo act and briefly deputised with The Fourmost when member Mike Millward became ill in early 1965. Following his debut release he adopted the name 'Freddie Ryder' which he used all his subsequent records. While making records he became a studio engineer at Radio Caroline and eventually became the production manager
