In Austria Loakes and Mark Elberg first collaborated and became Canvas then Huckleberry Swedes. Influenced byTexans who performed songs by John Prine, Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt. Played in his father's band at 16 - a heavy metal band Foghorn Leghorn. Has played Tamworth, Byron Bay, Apollo Bay, Gympie Music Muster and more. Toured with The Flood and Bill Chambers.
