Bill McCune (2)

American big band saxophonist, songwriter and bandleader. Born c.1912 in Hudson, New York. Died Feburary 26, 1983 (age of 71) in Miami Beach, Florida. He graduated from Manhattan College in New York. He played saxophone and wrote many of the songs for his Bill McCune Orchestra. During the 1940's, his band played regularly in New York and played at the old Astor Hotel for more than five years. In the early 1950's, the group moved to Miami Beach, where Mr. McCune retired in 1977.
