Edwin Vanvinckenroye, Pieter Thys and Reinout Vanvinckenroye started The Millenniums as a joke, a one-night band to celebrate the festivities of the New Millennium on New Year's Eve. The band played covers and traditional folksongs on an old organ, a present from the pastor of their town. The band disbanded after that party. In the beginning of 2002, DJ Chris Verelst had a new concept to form a band for another party. The 'new' band was founded by Roeland Van Noten, Pieter Thys and Chris Verelst. Pieter Thys made the choice to use the name 'Millenniums', because the organ was used again. This time the music was a mix of Jazz, Worldmusic and Funky Soundtracks.Different friends (musicians) were invited to join the band. Most compositions were made by the founder-members and the party became a big success. The First Real Line-Up: Pieter Thys, Chris Verelst, Roeland Van Noten, Reinout Vanvinckenroye, Gert Wijninckx, Koen Nys, Lieve Geerts, [a1311035]. Bert Bernaerts, Chryster Aerts.[a3412509] The following months some members left and were replaced by others. [a1311035] left and [a1179655] joined the band. Some extra musicians were added: Jon Birdsong and Edwin Vanvinckenroye. With this line-up several concerts were played, sometimes with some extra guest musicians. Just before the recording sessions for 'Hi-Fi Stereo', Gert Wijninckx left the band and Bart Borremans became the new saxophone player. The recordings for "Hi-Fi Stereo" were successful and during these sessions Assunta Mandaglio joined the band. More concerts came, but later again some members left the band. This time Lieve Geerts, [a1179655], Jon Birdsong, Reinout Vanvinckenroye and Edwin Vanvinckenroye. Tim Dejonghe joined and became the new trumpet player. A new CD "2nd Cumming" was recorded and it sounded again very nice and exotic. Many concerts came but with the always changing line-up, the sound was changing. When the CD was released, founder-member Chris Verelst left the band and again some others followed... Pieter Thys found a new line-up which is here described as current line-up, but he also changed the name of the band in: Balaxy Orchestra. New musicians and a new concept... Current line-up (=Balaxy Orchestra) Pieter Thys: Guitar, organ Roeland Van Noten: Bass Suzy Mandaglio: Vocals Koen Mertens: Drums Chryster Aerts: Percussion Tim Dejonghe: Trumpet Koen Nys: Saxophone (tenor, alt, soprano) Bart Borremans; Saxophone (tenor sax, soprano) Glen Dejonghe: Tuba, Trombone Bert Bernaerts: Trumpet, Tuba
