The Solid Gold (2)

Cleveland, Ohio 1966-7 The Solid Gold were from Cleveland’s west side. The band included Ade Schreiber on vocals, Mickey Bruno on guitar, Don Papes on bass, Gary Cernan on keyboards, and Tom Szaller on drums. Previously Ade had been in the band Ade and the Devotions. In 1967 the band cut a 45, issued on the Matawan label with a St. Clair Ave address. They covered the Baskerville Hounds’ song “Sad Eyed Lady” and “Hold On I’m Coming”. The record has horns overdubbed, they were not part of the band.
