Andrea Watson

Australian vocalist, percussionist, guitarist, composer, vocal teacher and workshop tutor, based in Melbourne, Victoria. Andrea was a founding member of Akasa. In 1998 she completed her Bachelor of Music Performance at the Victorian College of the Arts. This kick-started her professional career as a singer/songwriter. She has recorded with many international musicians including Valanga Khoza as Hemisphere, King Marong as Safara, and performed with some of Australia’s most prominent Jazz greats including Alex Pertout, Ted Vining and Bob Sedergreen. Andrea also appeared in the vocal duo Caramelle with Sallie Harvey. After extended trips to South Africa to study music and culture, Andrea then specialized in South African vocal music.
