Originally conceived as a studio only project, Kier decided to expand the concept into a live band. Shane Hickmore was recruited as lead singer, and later joined by Brendan O'Kane on guitar and Matt Coplon on bass. The band had auditioned several live drummers, however in the end decided to go with using programmed drums live.
