A Japanese bassist. Born in Nagoya, started working as a professional musician when he was in high school. At first he played fusion on electric bass, but later he turned to jazz with a wood bass. He played in groups such as Kenji Mori and Sunao Wada. He has experienced a lot of sessions with musicians living in Tokyo, including Yuzuru Sera on TV and radio, and decided to move to Tokyo. Participated in the TsubasaTamura trio from 1978. After that, he belonged to the Toshio Osumi trio. After that, he studied under Richard Davis in New York. He has performed with pianists such as Kenny Barron, Roland Hanna, Benny Green and Cyrus Chestnut. Appeared in Blue Note in his own trio. After two years of playing in the United States, he returned to Japan. He rejoined the Toshio Osumi trio. He played backing vocalists such as Mari Nakamoto, Yasuko Agawa, Marine and Marlena Shaw. After that, he participated in the Tsuyoshi Yamamoto trio. He engages in performance activities such as concerts, live performances and recordings.
