Sandamí

Daniel Santiago, known since his adolescence as San, has a limitless vocal range and rock´n´roll highs that take off with the inseparable tambourine. Recognized as a crossover between rock and samba, the artist shows that he goes further with original, unreleased songs and career successes with the group samba. San recently released the DVD “SAN7”, with career hits, new reinterpretations, original and unreleased songs. Recorded live, the work captured all the artist's versatility and charisma in a backyard full of friends, musicians, lots of percussion, barbecue, samba, circus and joy. “For me, playing and singing is always a party, that's why we created this atmosphere for my new work”, comments the artist. Widely recognized on stages throughout Brazil and abroad, San participated in important festivals – in 2015 he led the tour of the United States with Sambô, passing through six cities and in 2016, in his solo career he traveled with the “De Tudo Pra Todos” Tour to Doha, Qatar, in 2019 he stood out at the “Brazilian Fest of Pompano Beach”, where singer Iza, Di Ferreiro and the band Biquini Cavadão also performed. Born in Bauru and raised in Descalvado (SP), at the age of two he was already playing the tambourine for the first time and parading with his parents at samba schools. At eight, he earned his first salary juggling a tambourine accompanied by nine dancers, an art he learned from his father. At 15, he was already performing at dances in the interior of São Paulo. From then on, San never stopped. In 2006, he got together with a group of friends to have fun and make quality samba, taking over the vocals, arrangements and tambourine for "Sambô". The band from Ribeirão Preto, which became known throughout the country for its mix of rock and samba, released its first CD and DVD, “Sambô Ao Vivo”, in 2009, marking its name in the history of Brazilian music with musical boldness and transforming classics in a sound full of swing and drumming. Also in 2009, the artist recorded the solo album “O Traço Vol. 1” and was in season with the show of this work, a multimedia show, with circus and projections, at the Memorial da América Latina and took this presentation to important theaters in the interior from Sao Paulo. With Sambô, he participated in three chapters of Malhação in 2011 and in 2012, he released the CD and DVD “Estação Sambô”, in addition to livening up one of the BBB12 parties and making around 25 presentations per month throughout Brazil. In 2013, the group recorded versions of “Toda Forma de Amor”, by Lulu Santos (opening track) and “Flores” (character track) for the soap opera “Sangue Bom”, on Rede Globo, aired in 2013. The artist also performed alongside important musicians of different styles such as Seu Jorge, Jair Rodrigues, Thiaguinho, Péricles, Benito di Paula, Luciana Mello,  Wilson Simoninha, O Teatro Magico, Sidney Magal, Chitãozinho & Xororó, Sérgio Reis, Di Ferrero (NX ZERO), Elymar Santos, among others. He was also responsible for soundtracks. In 2007, he took over the soundtrack for the show “Brincadeira”, by the circus company Acrobático Fratelli and in 2010, for the short film “Profana Via Sacra”, by Alisson Sbrana, winner of the “Festival de Brasília do Cinema Brasileiro”, in the category “ Short in 35mm.” In 2016, the artist released the CD and DVD “De tudo Pra Todos”, recorded live in the studio with career hits, new original songs, new reinterpretations, with the participation of MC Guimê and the music video “Os 4 Cantos do Mundo” as a bonus. The work expresses San's musicality and talent as an eclectic artist who is not tied to labels and presents his original songs. The DVD is on the Music Box Brazil schedule and the music video “Os 4 Cantos do Mundo” was presented on the TVZ Program on Multishow. In 2017 he recorded the album “Sandamí 100 Anos de Samba”, with songs from the 1910s to the present day, under the artist's interpretation and point of view, with exquisite arrangements and a unique style, without the intention of choosing the songs more striking, as there are many, but driven by the desire to pay homage to composers and sambas that marked his life and the lives of so many people. In 2019 he created, together with Cia K, A Banda Que Voa, a circus musical show that can be performed 30 and 40 meters above the ground. In the same year he released singles and video clips and the show “Mulheres Que Cantam e Choram”, a project in trio of strings, voice and percussion that pays homage to female performers and composers in reinterpretations of classic choros with a new look and sound. In 2020 he recorded and produced an album with 5 songs made during quarantine and released every two weeks. The artist wrote the lyrics, music, arrangements, played and recorded all the instruments, in a “homemade” process, where he designed the arts that illustrate the covers of the singles. “Quero te Pegar de Canto” and “Ecoa” have already been released, and both songs received music videos made in the artists’ homes. In 2023 he recorded the audio visual “SAN7” with hits from his career and many new features, accompanied by a swinging band where the “batucada” also features drummer Sudu Lisi, partner of the group Sambô, 3 percussionists and also featured the special participation of singer Matheuzinho.
