Juan Arteta (b. Marid, Spain, May 18, 1918 - d. Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela, November, 2008). Best known as "La Trompeta de Oro de América". Arteta attended his musical formation at "Conservatorio de Música y Declamación" in Madrid. After Spain Civil War, Juanito Arteta as he was also known, traveled to México where began to work along side the prominent musical figures as Agustin Lara, Pedro Vargas, Miguel Aceves Mejías, and many others. At that time the Mambo started to shine on the scene and Juanito Arteta is hired by Benny Moré and after that by Pérez Prado, "The Mambo's King". Arteta was living and working intensily for a decade in Mexico City, when he met to a venezuelan spectacle entrepreneur who ofered to him the opportunity to work with a famous Venezuelan TV hoster, Mr. Renny Ottolina. Initially Juanito Arteta and his Orchestra was hired for 15 days, and prolongued his stay until his death. For the 50 decade, the fabulous Juanito Arteta was working as musical director of The Radio Difusora Venezuela and Radio Libertador, hence there help to impulse the artistic carrear of popular singer as Cheo García, Memo Morales and Felipe Pirela. Arteta move to Ciudad Bolívar where he kept working as musical teacher, and founded Angostura's Orchestra and directed the Juan Bautista Dalla Costa's Band. Juanito Arteta died in Ciudad Bolívar on November 2008, he was 90 years old.
