Polka band from WI formed in 1947. They started as a seven-piece polka band that expanded to 10 members in 1960 and stabilized with 11 or 12 members and over 600 arrangements. In 1970 they morphed their sound into a more big band dance style as The Jimmy Hartwig Band and served as The Gobbler’s house band for several years. Bandleader Jimmy Hartwig was from from Johnson Creek, WI. He played his first paying job in 1935 and played his last gig with the band in September of 2003 before passing away in 2018. His son Wayne has taken over his duties in the band which has been going for over 70 years. Members included: Jerry White (founder of White House Of Music) baritone sax and clarinet Doug Terhune alto sax and clarinet Ken Lemke trumpet
