"Ellen grew up in south Wales surrounded by music, her mother being a renowned concert harpist, and much of the family involved in music in some way or another! Having gained a BA in Spanish and French from the University of Exeter, and enjoyed a year furthering her Spanish studies at the Universidad de Oviedo in Northern Spain, Ellen returned home prepared to pursue her first love – singing – and to study for an MA in Music Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Already a well known soloist in Wales, Ellen has appeared in concerts across the principality, and regularly appears on the media. She has had considerable success competing both nationally and internationally, notably in Oratorio and Early Opera, and traditional Welsh Folk singing. She has enjoyed performing in concert venues across the country and internationally, including a UK premier of Karl Jenkins’ The Bards of Wales,conducted by the composer himself."
