Musician from Neuss, Germany. In the beginning of his career he was playing bass in his school band "Phiric Victory“. With the band "G-man“ he switched to singing. Following bands were "December“ and Jagiello. In 1997 the band Ötteband was founded, a successful and intensive band history started. Founding members Markus "Scholle“ Scholz (bass), Stefan "Tiger“ Schlycht (guitar), Peter "Piti“ Nieswand (drums) and Christian "Ötte" Otte (vocals) quickly earned a good reputation by playing german cover songs. In 2001 Markus Scholz and Stefan Schlycht were replaced by Ralf "Ralle“ Eiden (bass) and Markus "Exe“ Exner (guitar) and the band began their most successful phase. Playing gigs with Nena, Achim Reichel, BAP, Münchener Freiheit, Massendefekt, Knorkator and Extrabreit. They garnish their live sets with own songs from their debut album "Die Rückkehr der geilen Engel". The band has its own print magazine, its own radio show on citizen radio, its own record label. They were hired for TV appearances and festivals. At the “Kaarst Total” city festival in 2005, the band stopped being a cover band, the following albums "Saitenwechsel" and "Grünes Licht" contained only own compositions. In 2007 they disbanded, a short comeback was started in 2013/2014 with the album "Als wenn das alles wär". Otte stayed creative, founded the band project C.H.O.T., produced the two albums "Die Zeit sind wir" and "Mit Blick nach Süden“, goes on tour and released a live dvd. In 2011 Otte started his solo project Ötte with the album "bonjour tristesse“. In 2018 Otte made a record deal with german label Motor Music and released the album "gare du noise“, the album received very good reviews and won the third place at the "German Rock and Pop Price" in the category "Best german-language album 2019" in December 2019. Because of the Corona virus crisis his new studio album "Sicht der Dinge" was postponed to autumn 2020. It will be released on the reactivated own record label Öttemusic.
