Carlos Lopez (14)

Carlos López was a Bolivian singer-songwriter (b. 15 of November 1949 in Potosi - d. 21 of December 2019 in Cochabamba). He was one of the founder of Savia Nueva in 1973. Together with [a1269108] today a member of Savia Andina, they began the project of testimonial singing of social commentary, which ended with the recording of a small album of four songs on Discolandia. In 1976, López invited [a4914610] to continue the Savia Nueva project. Along with [a3391467], between 1977 and 1983, the year in which this cycle ended, Savia Nueva recorded three long-playing records under the record label Campo with songs compiled from Latin American singing committed to changes in society and César's compositions. In 1998, López recorded his first solo CD in Canada under the title “Urgente”, performing his own compositions full of social content and beginning his so-called “Canto vital”. After 18 years of silence, the musician presented volume 2 of “Canto vital”, “Cantos de guerreros” in 2016, and is now preparing to launch the “Ghandarba”, volume 3, this Friday, June 2 at the Municipal Theater peace.
