Stage Fright is a band widely known for their song "Cocaine Girl" that was mistakenly belived by many to be a song by Nirvana. "Cocaine Girl" was written in the year 2000 with the aid of a Sunburst Epiphone Les Paul and a 4-track recorder in Bethesda, Tennessee. The Stage Fright recorded the song and performed it 2000-2001 in Franklin, TN at various talent shows and the Next Generation in Nashville, TN. One day, a band mate named "S" uploaded the song on Napster with the title "Nirvana (rare) - Cocaine Girl". Excitedly we watched as several people downloaded our song, hoping they would see the link to www.stagefrightsite.com in the file info. However, many people actually believed the song was recorded by Nirvana. A British band called The Pincer Movement ripped off the song and recorded a video of it in 2002. Several other bands have covered the song since.
