Florian Leonhard (b. 1963, Düsseldorf) is a German violinmaker, dealer, restorer and luthiery expert currently based in London. After studying at the Mittenwald School of Violin Making, he worked for the renowned firm W.E. Hill & Sons, subsequently becoming the Head Restorer. Leonhard's company, "Florian Leonhard Fine Violins," operates in London, San Francisco, Seoul, and Hong Kong. It serves as the official Expert & Luthier for Stringed Instruments for the Royal College of Music, London. Leonhard had restored and supplied fine antique Italian instruments to many renowned musicians, including Leonidas Kavakos, [a406149], Julian Lloyd Webber, and Alina Ibragimova. Florian published two books, the '98 Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume co-authored with Stefan-Peter Greiner and Makers of Central Italy (2011).
