He began his musical training at age 12, which permeated several paths, from popular to erudite. From guitar to guitar, including acoustic bass, he immersed himself in Rock, MPB, Jazz and World Music, always involved in studies and research with renowned private teachers, in clinics, workshops and lots of practice together. The involvement with instrumental music also came early, providing activities in various groups with participation in works by important musicians on the national scene, strengthening the taste through composition and improvisation. Among several formations, he specialized at the Guitar Institute of Technology (USA) with Scott Henderson, Frank Gambale and Sid Jacobs, studied harmony with Dr. Cláudio Leal Ferreira, was a student of the extension course in Popular Music and a special student of the postgraduate course in Practices of Improvisation at UNICAMP. As a sideman, he worked with several singers, bands and orchestras in concerts in Brazil and abroad. As a producer, musical director and arranger, he participated in several recordings of CDs and DVDs. In bands: Roberta Campos, Falamansa, Flávia Bittencourt (part. Luís Melodia, Alceu Valença, Alcione, Elba Ramalho, Geraldo Azevedo, Nando Cordel, Antúlio Madureira), Altemar Dutra Jr, São Paulo Ska Jazz (part. Fernanda Porto), Banda Black Rio, Arthur Maia, Dulce Quental, Banda Rio Soul, Cláudio Zoli, Tânia Mara and others. In Orchestras: Zeca Baleiro, Sandra de Sá, Zélia Duncan, Fafá de Belém, Derico, Blitz, Frejat, MV Bill. Aquiles Franco started teaching guitar lessons in 1988 and, from 2006 to 2016, he was pedagogical coordinator at EM&T - School of Music & Technology (Campinas Unit) and professor at IG&T, having held several workshops throughout the country and abroad, and participated in 6 editions from the Guitar Player Festival. He has three authorial instrumental CDs: "guitar songs" (1999), "roots" (2008) and "Cenas" (2014). In 2022, he released the album "Brasil Elétrico", with reinterpretations of old Brazilian songs and the EP "Orgânico TRIO".
