American drummer / percussionist. Born June 17, 1968. Died January 8, 2015 in Branson, Missouri. Chuck Landry began his musical career in his father's band in South Louisiana at the age of 15 and moved to Nashville, Tenn., with his brother, [a1651532], at the age of 17. While living in Nashville, Chuck played for Jimmy C. Newman, performing on the Grand Old Opry and touring the United States and Europe. He also performed with Doug Kershaw and Mel McDaniel. Chuck then moved to Branson, Missouri and began working a variety of shows. Chuck performed for five years with Splinter Middleton at the Down Home Country Music Show and the Wade Benson Landry Swingin’ Cajun Style Show. He also performed at Silver Dollar City and with The Grand Ladies of Country Music featuring Jean Shepherd, Norma Jean, Wanda Jackson and others. He also performed with Hank Thomson, Ray Price, Asleep at the Wheel, Leona Williams and The Joey Riley Show. In 1998, Chuck began performing with the legendary Mel Tillis and the Statesider band and traveled all across the United States and Canada and continued with Mel until his death.
