The Fixits

Ramshackle noise/clatter outfit, formed in 1984 by Andrew Austin, Lee Ford (3), & Rick Goodchild in West Blatchington, near Brighton, UK. Named after a do-it-yourself store in nearby Southwick. Slimmed to a duo of Austin & Ford in 1987, they would issue several cassettes through their own IDC Tapes label, championed at the time by BBC Radio Sussex DJ Mike Bradshaw, who (rather flatteringly) compared them to 60s freaks such as The Godz. Made their final recordings in 1993, & disbanded shortly thereafter.
