Ecuadorian hardcore group: Obscura, its name says it all, it contains mystery and those who have heard it know of the strength and energy that these first-class musicians transmit. His talent caused that in the year 2001, they played before more than 100 thousand people, in one of the biggest festivals of South America, as is the 'Rock Al Parque', in Bogotá, Colombia. The leader of the band, Enrique López, guitarist of 36 years, says that Obscura was formed in October of 1996. "The name of the band was born from a song that composed the first vocalist of the band and since it was a short and simple name, we liked it and we stayed like Obscura", he explains. The core of the band are the brothers Enrique and Jacobo López. Jacobo is a bassist, in 1998 he joined the band Alex Basantes as vocalist and among the three are the fundamental pillar of this group that already crosses borders. Many nationally renowned artists like Igor Icaza, Sal and Mileto have passed through this band; Jaime Molina, from Cafeterasub; Juan Pozo, from Muscaria, Mandala and Andrés Trujillo, from Tanque. Current members Alex Basantes is the voice, he divides his time with the band and his work in the Internal Revenue Service (SRI); Enrique López, guitarist, is a band producer and sound engineer, he also works in commerce; Jacobo López, bassist - at the moment he works in the United States as a seller of houses -; Andrés Lana, replaces Jacobo on the bass, balances his time with his legal profession and on the drums is a person in the test stage 'studio drummer', who does not know if he stays or not, for this reason he reserves name. Trajectory The first demo of the band was sent in 1999, with nine own songs and a cover of the Argentineans Riff. In the year 2000 came the studio album 'Fuera De Alcance', whose musical value was internationally recognized and gave them the 'passport' to travel to Colombia for the Rock Al Parque festival. In 2004 the album 'Vital Estructura' was released, one of the few Ecuadorian albums that were compiled in the Rolling Stones magazine and internationally recognized. The genre played by this band is classified between trash and death metal. It is characterized by very aggressive and fast tones, rhythms that make them unique.
