Blues pianist and singer Robert “Junior” Brantley received the 2016 NevadaHeritage Award for his lifelong dedication to the preservation and teaching ofBlues traditions. A resident of Las Vegas since 1992, Brantley’s stellar career included years with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jimmy Vaughan and the Tilt-a-Whirl Band, and Roomful of Blues, and touring as part of harmonica legend Sonny Boy Williamson’s band. He has performed with Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B.King and Buddy Guy.
