Rev. Paradiso E. Vaughan C.S.S.R.

Edmund Vaughan, C.SS.R., was born Nov. 6, 1827, at Courtfield, Ross, Hereford. Died July 1, 1908. He is the author of all of the translations from S. [Alphonsus Maria de Liguori] (except “Mary sings, the ravish'd heavens,") , which were edited by Bp. Coffin in 1863. He is also the author of the following original hymns: 1. God of mercy and compassion. 2. Happy we, who thus united. 3. Hark ! angelic songs resounding. 4. Holy Spirit! Fount of wisdom.. 5. Let those who seek the world to please.. 6. Yes, heaven is the prize.
