David Luidold was born in Rottenmann in 1984. He graduated on Admont Abbey High School. First trumpet studies led him to the Kunstuniversität Graz, and later to Vienna to Dietmar Küblböck and Hans Ströcker. (Master's examination in the concert subject "Orchestra instruments / trombone" with distinction, graduation Bachelor's degree teaching qualification "Instrumental Pedagogy Classical" with distinction). He completed a study abroad in Berlin with Stefan Schulz, as well Private studies and master classes in New York and Chicago with Joseph Alessi and Charles Vernon. He gained his first orchestral experience at the European Union Youth Orchestra, Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Sapporo / Japan, as well as in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Since 2009 he has been a bass tenor trombonist in the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra engaged. As a substitute he played with the Berliners, among others Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony and the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin. In 2014 he received a temporary contract at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Since summer semester 2015 he has been visiting professor for trombone at the University of Art in Graz. In addition, he leads one Training class for trombone at the Liezen Music School and is Kapellmeister of the Liezen Town Music Band. A CD with symphonic brass music was produced in 2013, and concerts took place on the occasion of Mid Europe and in Graz Stefaniensaal instead. In 2015 he gave a guest performance with the Liezen Town Music Band at the Innsbruck International Promenade concerts. David Luidold played in the Upper Austria brass band and participated in several CD productions and took part in the "European Brass Band Championship". In 2013 he played the bass trombone concerto "subZERO" as a soloist by Daniel Schnyder in the Graz Opera House, which was also broadcast live on Austrian radio. Furthermore he is a member of the Graz trombone quartet. In 2009 he was awarded the “Dr. Karl Böhm grant "awarded by the city of Graz.
