“ ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA NACIONAL DE BOLIVIA “ The National Symphony Orchestra was created on April 6, 1945, by Supreme Decree No. 297, issued by President Gualberto Villarroel and on the initiative of musician Mario Estenssoro. Its first director was the Austrian Erich Eisner. By Supreme Decree No. 25625 of December 17, 1999, the OSN is constituted as a decentralized entity, under the direction of David Händel (1997 - 2012). Although it has a history since the beginning of the 20th century, on July 18, 1947 the National Symphony Orchestra debuted presenting Wagner's Overture of “The Master Singers Nuremberg” and Tchaikowsky's “Fifth Symphony”. In recent years, the Orchestra has reached 50 annual presentations, increasing its audience, especially in the youth field.
