Virginia Overton

American visual artist (b. 1971, Nashville, Tennessee); based in Brooklyn, New York. Virginia Overton is known for her site-specific installations and sculptures that often incorporate found or ready-made objects. Overton's works are presented in permanent collections of MoMA, Whitney Museum Of American Art and other prestigious museums and galleries. Virginia Overton studied at The University Of Memphis, earning her Bachelor's (2002) and Master of Fine Arts (2005) degrees. She held various teaching and academic positions over the years, including Harvard University's Visiting Lecturer on Visual and Environmental Studies in 2014–15.
