January 28, 1935-January 31st, 2018. Born Frank Louis Bergquist on January 28, 1935, in Worchester, Massachusetts, Frankie began playing, singing and entertaining crowds in Boston and surrounding cities at a very young age. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served faithfully until his discharge as Sergeant. He then returned to the stage entertaining packed rooms from Florida to Northern New Hampshire for decades. Frankie formed a trio, "The Tempos," and in 1959, he recorded his hit song, "See You in September," a tune re-recorded by others over the years. Frankie and his wife, Shirley, opened The Hole Show Lounge in Daytona Beach in the late 60's, as well as several other entertainment venues in the Daytona Beach area. After running his own clubs, radio shows for race fans at Daytona International Speedway, and singing, playing keyboards, and entertaining in the Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach areas, Frankie, Shirley, and Paul traveled to New Hampshire, where Frankie entertained at The Jack O' Lantern Resort in Woodstock, New Hampshire. Eventually, the family permanently re-located to the White Mountains, where Frankie entertained grateful crowds at the Jack O' Lantern and the Beacon Resort. After years of being a one-man-band, Frankie asked his son, Paul, a talented drummer, to join him on stage. They quickly became well known in New England as Burke & Burke. Paul worked beside his dad for 16 years or more; they were partners and best friends. While performing at the Beacon Resort, Frankie & Paul entertained thousands; Frankie wrote and directed themed shows and mentored new, talented singers and performers along the way. Shortly after relocating to the White Mountains, Frankie returned to school at Berkley College of Music and the Lesley University in Boston. He later earned a degree in Theology from Logos University and became an Ordained Minister in the early 80s.
