Earl Nelson

American soul singer and songwriter. Best know as part of the duo Bob & Earl and for their hit Harlem Shuffle (1963). Born 8 September 1928 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA. Died July 12, 2008 in Los Angeles,California, USA. In 1965, Earl Nelson was singing with Mirwood under the name “[a2064227]”. But when he and his producer Fred Smith (3) wrote a dance song called “The Duck“, Nelson decided he would use yet another name, so he took his girlfriend”s first name (Jackie) and his own middle name (Lee) and became [a386233]. In the 1970's Earl Nelson used another alias: “[a281681]”, under which moniker he released a solo album and several singles.
