Phil Baker began doing comedy in Springfield, MO in 1972 with Al Crosley And The Crosslanders, using the moniker "Clem Clodhopper." In 1976, he joined the Plummer Family Music Show in Branson, MO (billed as "Draino"). He left Branson to work in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee for three years, during which time the character of "Willie Makeit" was developed.In 1985, he moved back to Branson to work on the Ozarks Country Jubilee, and was nominated as one of the top four comedians in Branson. He has also worked with the Oldfield Opry and the Braschlers, and from 2005-2008 was part of The Baldknobbers show in Branson.
