They officially forming in early 2002 . Their first two-song demo, featuring “Blinded by Anger” and “Naïve”, gained radio airplay. They also received press in both The Aquarian and Steppin' Out Magazine. At the end of 2003, they won Street Patrol's Battle of the Bands on the award winning WSOU radio, and secured a spot on the station's regular rotation. WSOU also named Trudge, Street Patrol Band of the Year for 2003. The single, “Patience is Lost”, from their first EP, tore up the airwaves not only on WSOU, but also on 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia. The first EP was recorded at Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City, NJ under the production of Fern of the Step Kings. Trudge's second EP is mentioned to be the most highly anticipated EP for 2005.
