Dick Shallberg

American Dixieland and jazz banjo and guitar player. Born in Geneva, Illinois on 6 March 1932 Died February 18, 2023 (90 years old). He graduated from Princeton in 1954 with a degree in engineering while excelling at cross country as well as music. He played guitar and banjo while at Princeton on The Tiger Blacknotes then as one of the originals in the Stan Rubin and His Tigertown Five. He was commissioned in the Army after graduation and deployed to Germany for a two-year assignment. He worked as an engineer then as a farmer. After retiring from farming, he found time for travel throughout the United States and abroad, golf, and once again music where he joined several Dixieland bands playing his banjo.
