Venezuelan gaitas group. The history of Catatumbo goes back to the 70s with the idea of forming a professional group and the name was born from a trip that Armando Parra made to Zulia State where he is admired by the lightning reflexes of the Catatumbo and on his return to Caracas. to a meeting with a group of gaiteros to define the name of the group, being chosen by the majority the name of 'Catatumbo'. Currently, Grupo Catatumbo is made up of Mario Lazo in the General Direction, Ignacio Lazo and Omar Bastidas in the Musical Direction, Franklin Cacique, Antonio López, Alexis Bolívar, Leonel Espinoza, Luís Bastidas, Julio Salazar, Irvin Montezuma and Julio Cesar Salazar.
