Danish Soprano singer. Anne Rasmussen was marketed as the "Danish (Kiwi) Nightingale" in her youth. She was born in Denmark and moved to New Zealand when she was 8 years old. She was a child prodigy, singing along with recordings of Erna Sack and Deanna Durbin. She won a few youth music awards for piano and violin, but focused on her voice while studying with Sister Mary Leo (the voice teacher of sopranos Kiri Te Kawawa, Malvina Major, Mina Foley, and Patricia Price). Rasmussen sang in several concerts and broadcasts, including performing before Queen Elizabeth in 1963. In 1967 she won the Mobil Song Quest singing "Caro nome" and "The Last Rose of Summer." Anne can sing in five languages. Born 1949.
