Born June 8,1962 in Dunn, NC. Jim moved with his family to West Asheville at an early age. His family being very music oriented, he started playing instruments at an early age, playing baritone first, but finding his love for drums at about 14. Jim played in the community with his dad, Ernie, jazz, dance gigs and eventually leading to playing professionally at 18. He became known around Asheville from jamming sessions at the Brass Tap on Merrimon Ave, and eventually playing drums in the band Dixie Deluxe. For the last several years Jim had been writing and recording Christian music. June 8, 1962 ~ February 4, 2023 (age 60)
