The Gold Nuggett Gospel Singers

Originally formed in 1957 as the Jackson Hummingbirds by singers McHenry Bolden and Harvey Ford, along with manager R.L. Bolden, who brought in baritone Johnny Harris. Tenor vocalist L.C. Thigpen joined in 1962. Lead guitarist Robert Trussell joined in 1964 followed by bassist James Bolden in 1965. Rhythm guitarist Clifton Williams was added in 1967. This lineup recorded for Cotillion (as Golden Nugget) and Glory Road (as The Gold Nuggett). Joe Keys joined as a drummer in 1974.
